Police have arrested three men in connection with a kidney smuggling racket allegedly luring jobless people to hospitals in India to have their kidneys removed and sold, a police official said Friday. Two

men in their 40s were arrested in Kathmandu and a 36-year-old was arrested in the tourist town of Pokhara a week ago, said Sarbendra Khanal, a senior superintendent of police in Kathmandu. The three men scouted around the country looking for people seeking jobs, brought them to Kathmandu, where their blood group was identified to match with that of potential recipients, Khanal added. A 19-year-old man from Gorkha district, west of Kathmandu, fell into their trap in July.
