irty politics between Nepal India

KATHMANDU: A key leader of the United Democratic Madhesi Front, Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato, said the UDMF would help the government endorse the Constitution amendment bill registered at the Parliament.

Speaking with journalists at the Reporters’ Club in the Capital on Sunday, Mahato said the Front, however, would fight hard in order to include five districts of Tarai – Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kailali and Kanchanpur – into Madhesi-majority provinces.

“There should be two provinces from Jhapa to Kanchanpur,” he said, “We will not be back from this stance.”

However, the disgruntled forces would support the amendment bill currently awaiting discussion at the Parliament as it would help protect the achievements made so far, he clarified.

Meanwhile, Mahato accused the CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli of having double standards in his ideas about nationalism and provincial boundaries.
