16 Kg garlands of flowers around Parchanda

Nepal will host the 13th South Asian Games from March 9 to 18, 2019. It said that the decison was made at a meeting of the South Asian Olympic Council here attended by representatives from Nepal,

 Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. "Now preparations will be made in full swing to host the South Asian Games in a grand manner," Nepal Olympic Committee chairman Jeevan Ram Shrestha said. The 12th SAG was held in Guwahati and Shilong of India in February this year. The South Asian Games are held in every three years. All eight members of the South Asian Association for Regional

Cooperation (SAARC) namely Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan and Afghanistan, are expected to participate in the games, Shrestha said. Nepal hosted the first SAG in 1994. The South Asian Games started as a part of cooperation among the SAARC members in the field of sports.
